Rescue Operation Saves 17 People from Flooded Bus in Maharashtra

Successful Rescue Amidst Heavy Rain

In Maharashtra's Palghar district, a rescue operation successfully freed 17 individuals, including 16 women, from a bus stranded in floodwaters on Sunday. Officials confirmed the details of the operation.

According to an official statement, the rescue took place near Chari village in the Dahanu taluka amidst heavy rainfall.

The statement indicated that multiple agencies collaborated in the operation after receiving alerts, successfully extracting the women and the bus driver from the vehicle.

During the rescue efforts, Inspector Kiran Pawar from the Dahanu police station sustained injuries and was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment.

The India Meteorological Department had issued a 'Red Alert' for the district on Sunday, predicting heavy rainfall.
